Was haben der Kölner Takuplatz, die Iltisstraße oder die Lansstraße mit China und Kolonialismus zu tun? Im sogenannten "Chinesen-Veedel" wird aus Sicht der kolonialen Besatzer an die gewaltsame Invasion Ost-Chinas Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts durch das Deutsche Kaiserreich erinnert. Doch wessen Geschichte wird hier erzählt – und wessen verschwiegen? Kommt mit auf eine kritische Spurensuche, bei der wir uns fragen aus welcher Perspektive Geschichte erzählt wird, welche Aspekte unsichtbar bleiben und wie es mit antirassistischem Widerstand aus Asiatischen Communities in Köln aussieht.
Gemeinsam mit korientation e.V. laden wir Euch zu einem Stadtrundgang durch Neuehrenfeld ein. Die Stadtführung ist Teil des Programms im Yellow Room – unserem neuen Community Space im RJM, der Raum für Austausch, kritische Fragen und gemeinsame Perspektiven eröffnet.

Colonial-critical city tour through Ehrenfeld with korientation e.V.
What do Cologne's Takuplatz, Iltisstraße, and Lansstraße have to do with China and colonialism? In the so-called “Chinesen-Veedel” (Chinese Quarter), the violent invasion of eastern China by the German Empire at the end of the 19th century is commemorated from the perspective of the colonial occupiers. But whose history is being told here—and whose is being concealed? Join us on a critical search for clues, where we ask ourselves from whose perspective history is being told, which aspects remain invisible, and what anti-racist resistance from Asian communities in Cologne looks like.
Together with korientation e.V., we invite you to a city tour through Neuehrenfeld. The city tour is part of the program in the Yellow Room – our new community space at RJM, which opens up space for exchange, critical questions, and shared perspectives.
